Location: Libertyville, IL (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $65,000 – $79,500

A well-established, manufacturing company in the Libertyville area is seeking an experienced Accounting Associate to join its team. This role reports directly to the Controller and plays a key part in supporting day-to-day financial operations within a collaborative, small-team environment. This is a hands-on position best suited for someone who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable balancing multiple accounting responsibilities in a production-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
• Assist with cash management activities, including receipts, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations
• Process vendor invoices using three-way matching (POs, receipts, and invoices)
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as pricing or quantity differences
• Maintain recurring monthly accruals within the ERP system
• Prepare and file Illinois Sales & Use Tax returns
• Assist with budget preparation and data entry into the ERP system
• Collaborate cross-functionally while effectively managing competing priorities
• Support additional accounting projects and leadership requests as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required
• Hands-on experience with AP/AR processes and three-way matching
• Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced)
• Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards; Syteline a plus)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Familiarity with Illinois tax regulations and reporting
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision

• Fully on-site role (no hybrid or remote option)
